We partnered with North Shore, Oahu surfer Ollie Fix to make the ultimate high-performance soft top shortboard. We took the standard Chonk shape, which was already going well in wave pools, reinforced the deck and rails, and added a centre fin box with two removable fin options, both included.
Ride it three ways: as a twin (remove the centre fin) to slide the tail out, with the 2″ trailer for a little bite on turns, or with the 3.5″ fin for hold on a steep face. Oceans, wave pools, river waves.
Developed over many hours at The Lineup wave pool in Hawaii and in barrelling waves on the North Shore. It’s a rare combination of value, durability and capability.

Two marine wooden stringers with an epoxy nano-coating, a proprietary EPS foam core and a soft top layer that is thicker than our other models to withstand repeated airs and stomping. Extra tail reinforcement and a thicker underlayment bulk up the board for durability. Heat laminated with no harmful dyes, glues, resins or toxins.
6 epoxy-coated magnets are embedded in the foam beneath the HDPE slick bottom, projecting a magnetic field into the water around the rider. The field overwhelms a shark’s electroreceptor system and causes discomfort, without harming the animal. No batteries, no charging, no maintenance.
Every Rock-It board also carries the zebra-striped sea camo slick, a visual deterrent based on 2013 research from the University of Western Australia. Testing and disclosures
SharkGuard reduces risk but does not eliminate it. SharkGuard is a deterrent that helps reduce the risk of unwanted shark interactions. We do not guarantee complete protection or prevention of all shark encounters, and we do not guarantee it works equally across all species. Ambush attacks from large predatory species will not be deterred.
Magnetic field and medical devices. SharkGuard uses strong magnets. People with pacemakers, defibrillators or other implanted medical devices should not handle or ride a SharkGuard board without consulting a doctor. Keep sensitive electronics (hard drives, credit cards, phones) at least 30 cm from the board.
Do not attempt to remove magnets. Any attempt to remove, damage or alter the magnets can injure the user and will void the warranty.
